Solutions in I.T are the creators of EMiR, a market-leading business management platform designed specifically for electrical and mechanical engineering businesses.
Used by organisations across the repair, service, installation and maintenance sectors, EMiR helps engineering companies manage everything from workshop repairs and field service operations to purchasing, stock control, invoicing and financial management.
To complement the core ERP platform, Solutions in I.T developed EMiR Smart Site, a mobile application that enables engineers to access and record important job information while working on-site.
The Problem
Solutions in I.T had previously partnered with another development agency to build and maintain the Smart Site mobile application.
Over time, however, it became increasingly difficult to obtain timely updates, enhancements and ongoing support for the platform. As the mobile app became a more important part of the overall EMiR ecosystem, Solutions in I.T needed a trusted development partner that could provide both technical expertise and long-term continuity.
Following a search for a local app development agency, they approached Swipe & Tap to take ownership of the iOS and Android applications and help support the future growth of the platform.
The Solution
Our initial priority was to ensure a smooth transition from the previous development agency.
We worked closely with Solutions in I.T to transfer source code repositories, development processes and technical knowledge, allowing development to continue without disruption for existing customers.
Once the platform was stabilised, we began supporting ongoing feature development, maintenance and improvements across both the iOS and Android applications.
As our relationship developed, it became clear that Solutions in I.T viewed Smart Site as a strategic part of the wider EMiR platform. We therefore moved to a long-term development retainer model, providing predictable access to development expertise, roadmap planning and ongoing technical support.
Over the years, this partnership has enabled the Smart Site platform to evolve continuously, delivering new capabilities and improvements based on customer feedback and changing industry requirements.
The Outcome
Today, the EMiR Smart Site app supports more than 2,000 users across the UK, Ireland, Dubai, South Africa and Asia.
