International Women's Day 2020

International Women’s day is a global day for celebrating women as a global community. It is a day to honour our female role models and hopefully have our eyes open to new ones. This year’s theme is, I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights strives to increase gender balance in all industries for a better working world. An equal world is an enabled world.

We at Swipe & Tap are a Mobile App and Web Development company based in Leicester and we are particularly proud to celebrate women in tech. In my personal experience, it can be difficult to be taken seriously as a woman in business and this does lead to a lot of doubting of ourselves, our ability and our proven credentials. It can lead us prey to imposter syndrome – which leads to self-doubt and often leads one to think “am I really good enough, do I deserve my place”. We need to support each other and celebrate each other’s successes. This International Women’s Day, let’s motivate women and raise awareness. 

At Swipe & Tap, we believe that small steps in the right direction can lead to a big change. We have a 5:3 ratio of women to men, and everyone is given equal opportunities to grow. Everyone grows and works as a team. We support each other to be better. It does not have to be something big just some small steps in the right direction.
