The Brief
Play it Safe is a company that develops apps, games, and e-learning related to health and safety training. They approached us asking for a brand new app to extend their existing e-learning online web portal. The purpose of this was to make the service appeal to more mobile users. They also asked for the mobile app to have the capability for users to work offline. This app was to be bespoke for each company that chose to use it.
Three different types of users were required for this application. Employees were to log in to see a welcome screen with their course information with abilities to download and complete courses they are assigned to. Trainers would manage the courses for the company, add employees to courses and see training records for their employees. General/first-time users would be asked to sign up to download courses.
Results and Benefits
It was important that the app had a good user experience, especially since this app could contain videos, and we definitely achieved that. Course layouts can have several stages and include videos, information, activities, and questions. These courses can be downloaded in the app and saved locally on the app offline. Progress can be synced to the database when there is a wi-fi connection available.
Since the release of the initial Safe Guard app, companies such as Mattel and Hays have shown interest and have since had bespoke versions of the app developed on Android.
