ARE YOU BEING SERVED BY BOTTLE BUTLER?
How Swipe & Tap developed a native app to enable Bottle Butler customers to order alcohol deliveries to their home 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
TELEPHONE ORDERS TOO TIME-CONSUMING
Kiran Kooner founded Bottle Butler, an alcohol home delivery service, in 2012. It was the first service of its kind in Leicester and offered a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week service. Soon, Kiran and co-founder, Sharon were busy taking orders over the telephone and making deliveries around Leicester and Leicestershire. Customers paid cash on delivery or used a portable card machine.
Kiran and Sharon quickly realised that this process was highly time-consuming and that an alternative way of taking orders was needed. Whilst Bottle Buttler was still unique in terms of its service, it was apparent that it needed to move towards digital sales such as those employed by food delivery companies including Deliveroo and Just Eat.
Customers increasingly expect to be able to order products online and Bottle Butler recognised this. Online Ordering would mean a more efficient way for customers to place orders and for Bottle Butler to take payments.
ONLINE ORDERING AND CREATION OF PAYMENT APP
Kiran was looking for a developer who was local, and with whom she could have face-to-face meetings and a good working relationship. Leicester-based Swipe & Tap, a mobile app developer specialising in native apps, offered not only the technical expertise but also the customer service that Kiran was looking for.
Swipe & Tap developed the native app (for iOS) that enabled customers to easily browse products, add to their basket, and pay quickly and easily with a secure payment method. The app is Apple Pay enabled so that customers can literally pay at the touch of a button.
EASY, EFFICIENT ORDERING SYSTEM WITH INCREASING USAGE
Around 40 percent of all orders are now placed via the app and this figure is increasing every month.
Kiran Kooner: "We couldn't have picked a better team. We paid a set fee but they went above and beyond this. We could contact them anytime and they were extremely responsive."
Kiran commented: "The Swipe and Tap team really helped us in the beginning as we didn't know much about online payments or recognising fraudulent payments. Because they had experience in the area, they vetted some of the payments and there were occasions where they said to us that a payment looked suspicious so we were able to check to verify its authenticity."
